Revise Your Story Toolkit

​Let's create a strategic plan to get your manuscript into shape:
  • Audit Your Story & Develop A Strategic Plan: Want to learn a sure method to make sense of your messy draft? Learn how to evaluate and create a strategy to confidently revise your manuscript — backed by expert guidance every step of the way. ​You will:
    • ​Audit your story: Develop an As Is Outline to reflect what is on the page.
    • Assess your findings: Use the Outline Checklist for a high-level snapshot of the manuscript's major issues.
    • Identify what's wrong: Use the Stoplight strategy to assess the significance of the specific problems.
    • Obtain direct feedback on your assessments from your coach: Receive a comprehensive review of the As Is Outline and Stoplight Strategy work.
    • Brainstorm solutions with your coach: Work to solve all Red and Yellow Light issues in the As Is Outline.
    • Make a strategic plan for what needs to be changed: Use the revision plans to craft a Next Steps Outline that captures where the book should go.
    • *Iterate until your plan reflects your story vision:  Keep refining the Next Steps Outline until all Red and Yellow Light issues are resolved.
​*Note: Audit Your Story & Develop A Strategic Plan package includes three iterations of the Next Steps Outline. Additional iterations are priced separately.

  • Ongoing Revision Plan: Execute your strategic plan by referring to the "Next Steps Outline" to address 'Red' and 'Yellow' Light issues in the manuscript, ensuring clarity and consistency through a thorough feedback loop.
    • ​What this looks like: Submit 25 pages twice a month, receive expert feedback, and transform your draft into a compelling, pitch-ready manuscript—one step at a time.

  • Manuscript Health: If a client does not arrive at this stage after completing the Discover Your Story Toolkit or Revise Your Story Toolkit, a Manuscript Health Assessment will be the first step in the process.
    • ​What this looks like: I will read the first 50 pages to determine if your manuscript is ready for pitching.
